Thanks! I appreciate the feedback! I set such ridiculously high goals because I want to achieve a lot. I know I can’t keep them all the time, but the days that I do keep them I feel great. Since I’ve started these goals I have come a long way. Keep in mind that after living in Guangzhou for 1 year I only finished 3 units in my book. Most of the things I learned were on the street. Having a teacher and classmates would be great, but that isn’t an option for me right now. I’m using this blog, and twitter to keep me motivated. So far it’s been pretty good. I can always increase or decrease these goals as I go along. 我們可以!　加油!

First I’ve got to say I like your idea of documenting your efforts to learn Chinese. But setting goals poses the problem of failure (to achieve said goals)! I guess my advice would be to set goals that are fairly easy to achieve. Can you do classes? Having a teacher and classmates helps to achieve goals I think.
